JMAAA fourth annual meeting

August 1, 2009

Held at Rochester, New York

Alumni started converging into Woodcliff Hotel and Spa in the late afternoon of July 31, 2009 (Friday). Almost 10 families were already checked in by 8 PM. A group of 16 alumni set down for dinner and joked and had fun till 11 PM. After this some of them hanged around at the bar amidst the live music.

It was clean and 5 star hotel encircled by a golf course. The hotel sat on a hill and the vista around it was gorgeous.

On Saturday everyone met at the docks of the Canandiagua Lake at 12 noon for boarding the peddlewheelboat “The Canandiagua Lady” at the Steamboat Landing. The lake is about 16 miles long and about 1 to 2 miles wide. They served lunch while steaming to the other end of the lake and returning back to the landing at 2 PM.

The day was clear, warm without any humidity. It was a gorgeous day. Every one had a lot of fun.

After the boat ride we all rushed back to the hotel. The alumni went to their annual business meeting at 4 PM at the conference room.

At the dinner count on August 1, 2009 (Saturday), it was determined that there were 40 persons. It was sumptuous dinner at the India House with everyone promptly there by 7 PM. The food was great and everyone had a good time.

After the dinner, there was lots of singing and dancing. Some youngsters danced and sang and made the occasion very lively.

After returning back to the hotel, once again some of the guest converged around the bar where there was live music.

On Sunday, people got up at various times and met at the lobby. Some of the alumni were getting ready to depart slowly while a few stayed at the hotel to return back to their destinations the next day.

Overall, it was a wonderful occasion.

We are looking forward to the meeting again in Montreal next year on August 7 and 8, 2010.
